Wrestling with memories of my Brother

Created by numab 10 years ago
This is still hard to understand, it's going to take time to get used to not calling you, or sending a text or a message. Sharing ideas with you, watching wrestling or getting upset at our favorite football club not achieving much - moments I shall greatly miss. I choose to remember a story you once shared - we met when I was 4. It was your 5th birthday. I kept on following you around and you later asked your mum, "why is this boy following me?" At that age, I knew how great you were. How kind, selfless, cool and unique you could be. I choose to remember our childhood- we would go to church but stay in Sunday school for half an hour and go play somewhere else without a care. I remember how you would dance like Michael Jackson or try to play football like Maradonna. I remember you being there for me when I was bullied in school, you always had my back. There are many other memories we shared and laughed at, but I will always remember these words from you " we are brothers" and "I've got your back"... Bunmi is a brother I never had.. I see your children, see you in them and I ask - Why did you have to go now? It’s sad when life is cut short, but I know you are in better hands now. I will miss you, the Family will miss you, indeed you'll be missed by many. You gave us happiness and joy when you were here and this is a true blessing from God. Till we meet to part no more, R.I.P.
